Rihanna is one of the most successful artists ever. At her peak her career, she's sold 150 million tracks as well as 41 million CDs across the globe. Her parents were originally from Barbados as well, and she began singing when she was a teenager. The singer was frustrated by the squabbles in the family, and by constant disputes with her father. Therefore, she decided to become a music lover. She joined a band while still in high school and was able to have be a part of a musical production with Evan Rodgers who was highly impressed with the talent of the young girl. Rihanna moved from the city of her birth to New York to start a career in singing full time. Her debut album was soon made available and Rihanna became a musical sensation within a short time. Rihanna's songs that were a little giddy were top of the charts among teenagers which influenced her to pursue film. She's a young, talented woman who has become the fashion icon and popular teen hero. Rihanna is also putting her fame for good and is active in a variety of charitable organizations.
