Holden was born in Portsmouth, Hampshireand spent much of her early years in Bishop's Waltham, and aged nine she joined Bishop's Waltham Little Theatre Company. Holden also has TV credits that include three series together with Caroline Quentin and Chris Langham in the comedy Kiss Me Kate, three episodes on ITV's The Grimleys and Celeb With Harry Enfield, and a special Agatha Christie episode "4.50 from Paddington" to celebrate Boxing Day. In Ready When You Are Mr. McGill by Jack Rosenthal she was in the role of Bill Nighy, Tom Courtenay and Aleha Dixon. Along with Alesha Dixon David Walliams and Simon Cowell, Holden is a judge in Britain's Got Talent. She was the judge on Britain's Got Talent from 2006 until the year 2006.
